Lloyd's Online TR-808 Drum Machine is a web-based recreation of the legendary Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer, one of the most influential drum machines in music history. This project was created to provide musicians, producers, and music enthusiasts with a free, accessible tool to create drum patterns in the style of the iconic 808.
The Creator
Lloyd Stellar is a music producer, web developer, and electronic music enthusiast based in the Netherlands. With a passion for both music technology and web development, Lloyd created this online drum machine to make the iconic sound of the TR-808 accessible to everyone.

About the TR-808
The Roland TR-808 was introduced in 1980 and, despite its initial commercial failure, went on to become one of the most influential drum machines in music history. Its distinctive sounds, particularly its deep, booming bass drum, sharp snare, and sizzling hi-hats, have shaped countless tracks across genres like hip-hop, electronic music, pop, and R&B.
Although only around 12,000 units were ever produced, the 808's impact on music is immeasurable. Its sounds can be heard on thousands of recordings, from Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" to countless trap and hip-hop tracks today.
